Baltic Offshore Wind B2B Event

There is a lot of activity in Offshore Wind in Poland.

There are many offshore sites that are getting close to fruition, there is huge pool of talent and skills, and there is already a great deal of construction that goes on there.

Ulla Kiersgaard, Port of Rønne, and Allan May, Offshore Center Bornholm, were pleased to attend a great Business to Business event in Szczecin, PL, hosted by OffshoreEnergy.dk. There were talks from Bilfinger Mars, showing their latest innovations in foundation design and robotic welding technology. There was a great deal of interesting conversations had with Polish offshore wind license holders, transportation and logistics companies and skilled labour providing companies. On the second day, there was a great tour of the nearby KK Solutions factory, showing the manufacture and testing of their control cabinets and power convertors for offshore wind turbines.

Bornholm would be an ideal location for many of the offshore wind farms in Poland. Our location and size would make us a great interim port during construction or for when larger components require changing during operation, or for contractors doing survey and inspection work from Denmark, Sweden or Germany. Remember Bornholm!
